Park Extras - Animal Kingdom

Things to do in the Disney Theme Parks
that don't cost extra money

  • There are LOTS of Hidden Mickey's throughout Animal Kingdom.
  • Elephant Squirters

These sprayers can be found at the bridge that goes over the Kali River Rapids ride.  You get a chance to squirt the people on the raft ride as they pass by.

  • Safari Village - BEATNIKS

A group of "percussive beatniks" who create music based on the sounds of nature.

  • Carnivale of Artimals

Troupes of dancing bees and frogs interact with guests.

  • Conservation Station - Outdoor Stage

Acts not listed.  Some sign language interpreted performances on the Indoor Stage: Animal Presentation and on the Outdoor "Animal Clubhouse" Stage: Animal Encounter. Take the Wildlife Express train to Conservation Station.

  • Camp Minnie-Mickey

Festival of the Lion King - At the Lion King Theatre - a high energy tribal celebration, featuring song, dance, and acrobatics with the Lion King characters. Some sign language interpreted performances.  Arrive at least 25 minutes before the show.  Sit in the "Warthog" section, immediately to the right after entering the theater. See a Cast Member for assistance before entering the queue.

  • Characters

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh and stars of "The Jungle Book" and "The Lion King," greet guests and pose for photos in four pavilions at Camp Minnie-Mickey.

  • Asia

Flights of Wonder - At Caravan Stage - A humorous adventure featuring exotic birds from around the world.  Sign language interpreted performance Saturday at 2:45. Arrive at least 15 minutes before the show. Please sit in the designated viewing area in the LEFT section of the audience. See a Cast Member for assistance.

  • "DeVine" - A gifted performer, Priscilla cleverly conceals herself in a towering, hand-made foliage costume. It is only when she moves that guests realize they are not looking at nature but at "DeVine."  Sets are 45 minutes.

  • DinoLand, U.S.A.

Tarzan Rocks - Theatre in the Wild - a stage show starring Tarzan, Jane, Terk, "jungle gymnasts", singers and dancers! Some sign language interpreted performances.  Arrive at least 25 minutes before the show. Sit in the designated viewing area in the LEFT section of the audience. See a Cast Member for assistance.  This show is quite loud.  Vendors come around selling lemon ice for about $2.50.  The theatre is under a tarp, so you are in the shade, and there are fans that keep that air circulating.  Still, I advise you to get a drink prior to entering the theatre.

  • Dinosaur Jubilee

Casts of real dinosaur skeletons and other dinosaur artifacts.

  • Harambe

    Merveilles
Several days a week, several shows per day.

    Wasah
    Tuesday-Saturday - about 5 shows per day.

    Amex Storyteller
Several days a week at 3:00 pm.

  • Pin Trading

Pin traders can meet for information sessions daily at 9:30 am, 11:45 am, and 1 pm at Island Mercantile.

  • There are some drums that kids (or the young at heart) can beat on to their hearts content. While we were there, a CM had taught a little girl how to beat a rhythm and the two of them were able to keep it up for some time.  I'm sure that's a memory that little girl will always have (not pictured).

  • Kids Explorer Clubs - From 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Kids Explorer Clubs are located in Camp Minnie-Mickey, DinoLand USA, Africa, and Conservation Station.  They are fun and activities for the kids.

  • Keep on eye out for Wesley Palm, a talking palm tree.
