Tron 2

Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett have been cast in this sequel to Tron, and they will be joined by returning star Jeff Bridges.  According to Coming Soon, Bruce Boxleitner, who played Alan Bradley and the title character in Walt Disney Pictures’ 1982 film Tron, is currently filming a role for the studio’s upcoming Tron 2.0.

The 1982 film was among the earliest to use computer special effects and has a strong fan following.

The film has not yet been named and was written by Lost’s Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. The director is Jospeh Kosinksi. Steven Lisberger, who directed the original and cowrite its script, will produce, with Sean Bailey and Jeff Silver.

Wilde’s character will be ‘worker in the virtual world who tries to help fight Master Control Program, the villainous intelligence protocol that was the nemesis in the original film. Garrett will play a siren in the virtual world.”

This sequel is expected to be released in 2011.

How to Get a Discount Pin Code to a Disney Resort

Occasionally, some people will receive a postcard or newsletter containing a pin code for a discount to select Walt Disney World Resort rooms or packages. This pin code is nontransferable, so it can only be used by the person to whom it was sent. Although I do not know the exact way you can get a pin code sent to you, here are some suggestions that may work:

  1.  Register online at the official Walt Disney World website at www.disneyworld.com.  At the top
of the screen, click on "Register".

  2.  Sign up for every Disney-related newsletter available.  At the official Walt Disney World website
at www.disneyworld.com, in the upper right-hand corner, click on "Sign Up".
Here is another
website to sign up for a Disney newsletter:  WDW Public Affairs.  Click here to subscribe to
       the Disney Insider.

  3.  Order a Walt Disney World vacation planning DVD and be sure to enter your email address.

Since I have done this, I have received both postcard and email pin codes.  Recently, I was able to use a pin code from an email to save money on a Disney resort AND I got the free Dining Plan at a time it was not being offered to the general public.  Give it a try.

Disney World's New Reservation System

Here is the official announcement regarding the changes:

With the growing pattern of Guests booking their dining, recreation and tour experiences closer to their travel dates as they finalize their vacation itineraries, we will be adjusting the booking window for those experiences to a 90-day period, effective December 23, 2008.

Disney Resort Hotel Guests may book 90 days prior to their scheduled check-in date for the first 10 days of their stay. Day Guests may book 90 days prior to the date they wish to dine.

Due to the unique components and special nuances of Grand Gathering experiences and La Nouba performances, reservations for these offerings can be made up to 180 days in advance.

All existing reservations will be honored as booked.

Disney Pulls Out of Third Narnia Film

Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media have confirmed that for budgetary and logistical reasons the Burbank-based studio is not exercising its option to co-produce and co-finance The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader with Walden.

The Hollywood Reporter says the third installment was in preproduction and set for a spring shoot for a planned May 2010 release. The development puts the participation of the talent attached in doubt, adds the trade. Michael Apted was on board to direct a script by Steven Knight. The key players of the second installment, "Prince Caspian" -- Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley, William Moseley and Anna Popplewell -- were to return for the third film.

"Caspian," which filmed in the Czech Republic, Mexico and New Zealand, cost $200 million. The first film, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," was shot mostly in New Zealand for $180 million.
