Dive Quest at The Living Seas in Epcot

Disney's Dive Quest 

This three hour program includes a 40 minute dive, featuring sharks, rays, turtles and other tropical fish.  This takes place in the Living Seas Aquarium (a 6 million gallon indoor aquarium with more than 65 species of marine life, including sharks, turtles, eagle rays, and diverse tropical fish.  Participants must present proof of certification: C-card or verification from a certifying agency and a photo identification.  (Guests between 10 and 14 years old must be diving with a parent or guardian).

Cost is $150 per person (includes a limited edition t-shirt) and all gear is provided.  (Park admission is not required, or included).  This program takes place daily.  To make a reservation for this tour, call (407) WDW-TOUR (939-8687).   Ask if there is a Disney Visa or Annual Passholder or Florida resident discount when booking.

There are two daily sessions at 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

Disney's Dolphins in Depth  

This three hour program is an in-depth, behind-the-scenes experience to learn more about the dolphins and research at The Living Seas, as well as the increase awareness and appreciation for their counterparts in the wild.  

Age Group:  The program is open to guests 10 years of age and older.   Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Program Time:  9:45 am, Monday through Friday.  The program lasts for approximately 3 hours with the guest being in an indoor temperature controlled environment.

Cost:  $150; includes refreshments, a T-shirt and a souvenir.  Program price does not include admission to EPCOT.

Note:  Bring a bathing suit.  Guests will be wearing wet-suits and getting into the water up to their waist for 30 minutes, no swimming or SCUBA diving, for the interaction.

No cameras or video equipment allowed.  Expectant mothers are strongly discouraged from participating.

It is the dolphin's choice to participate in the research sessions as well as the interaction.  Program may be subject to cancellation to meet the dolphin's needs.

EPCOT Seas Aqua Tour

Seas Aqua Tour at Disney's Epcot 

This unique program offers an up close look into more than 65 diverse species of marine life, including sharks, turtles, rays, and tropical fish.  This adventure takes you into the water to explore The Living Sea's marine environment using a Scuba Assisted Snorkel (SAS) unit.  Before entering the water, you will tour the aquarium, and learn about some of the marine life you will encounter on your amazing aqua tour adventure.

Who:  All guests ages 8 and older.  Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Program Time:  Daily at 12:30 pm.  The programs lasts about 2 1/2 hours with the dive in-water experience lasting 30 minutes.

Cost:  $115.  This includes all the gear, refreshments, a T-shirt, and a group photo.

Note:  Bring a bathing suit.  All guests will be wearing wetsuits.  You do not need any special certifications to participate in the program.

Do not bring your own equipment of any kind.  Personal masks are acceptable.

Snorkeling at Shark Reef, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney World

Swim with sharks and colorful tropical fish through a coral reef!  

The water is kept quite chilly to accommodate the marine life.  You must shower before entering the pool.  You are provided with a vest which helps keep you warm, and snorkeling equipment.  This attraction is free, but Typhoon Lagoon admission is required.  Guests must be at least 10 years old.  The sharks are leopard, nurse, and bonnethead - passive members of the species.  If you do not wish to swim with the sharks, you can view the activity from portholes in a sunken tanker in the pool.


Kissimmee Professional Dive Center

Wet-N-Fla Scuba

3005 W. Lake Mary Blvd, #104, Lake Mary. (407) 322-1848. Snorkeling and S.C.U.B.A. diving tours. 10 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday. Noon to 5 pm Sundays. Allow 2 to 4 hours for this attraction.

614 Laurel Ave., Sanford (407) 323-6714, (888) 588-DIVE (U.S. only). Try S.C.U.B.A. diving (no experience needed). Snorkel with the manatees. Eco-tours. Wildlife photo safaris. Professional S.C.U.B.A. instructor and USCG captain. Hours vary seasonally.
