FISHING

There are a number of fishing excursions available; some on Disney property and some offsite in the Orlando area.  Here are some of the choices available:  

It is possible to just rent a canoe for the day (at Fort Wilderness, and other resorts), and throw in a line.  This costs less than an excursion, and you're not on a schedule.  Here is a link to some current boat prices at WDW.

These are the Disney property fishing excursions, which can be reserved up to 60 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY (939-7529). 

Fishing Excursions

Guided Fishing Excursions are available at the following Resort Marinas:

Times & Prices:

• 7:00am: $260.00 (tax exempt)-up to 5 people for 2 hours.

• 10:00am: $260.00 (tax exempt)-up to 5 people for 2 hours.

• 1:30pm: $230.00 (tax exempt)-up to 5 people for 2 hours.

• Fishing Excursion 4 hours - $445
• Fishing Per Person Excursion 2 hour - $160
• Fishing Excursion Extra Hour - $110

• Charges are per trip, not per individual

• Additional hours are available and cost extra.

• Double the 2 hour trip price for a 4 hour trip

• Approximately $15.00 (tax included) for 1 dozen shiners

Reservations: Required 24 hours in advance. Guests can contact (407) WDW-PLAY (407-939-7529), or any Walt Disney World Resort Guest Service location (8-285-6730).

Cancellations: Reservation are required. 24-hour notice required for cancellations. A credit card or resort ID is required at the time of the reservation. Guests failing to show or who do not cancel with at least 24-hour notice will be charged in full.

Note:

• This is a catch and release program; Guests may bring their own camera.

• Fishing excursions may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

• Guests should arrive approximately 10-15 minutes prior to departure time.

• No evening excursions.

Junior Fishing Excursions
(Kids' Fishing Around the World)

The Junior Fishing Excursion is a 1 hour long excursion available for Guests ages 6-12. Pickup is available from the following resort marinas and locations:

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

Here are some links to info about off-site fishing: These tend to be less expensive than Disney's guided fishing tours; however, you will need to obtain a Florida fishing license for all off-site fishing.  You can call this toll-free number to obtain a license over the phone: 1-888-347-4356. 

Most Charter and Party boats include the license as part of the trip.  Be sure to ask.

 
Florida's new law does require everyone fishing from the shore in saltwater to now have a license (updated Aug 2009).

There is a processing fee charged in addition to the license cost for using this service.   You can purchase freshwater and saltwater fishing licenses at most bait and tackle shops, discount retail, and sporting goods stores.
