    • During rainy evenings, activities take place at the porch at the Meadow Trading Post.
    • No cost.

  • Electrical Water Pageant:

If you are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, or Contemporary Resort, you can view this enchanting seven-minute shimmering light show which appears nightly on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.

A thousand-foot-long string of barges transports this light and music show past the Polynesian at 9 pm; the Grand Floridian at 9:20 pm; Wilderness Lodge at 9:35 pm; Fort Wilderness at 9:45 pm, and 10:05 at the Contemporary.

  • Fort Wilderness -

Volleyball and basketball are available for Disney Resort guests.

  • Ladybug Release Program

This program takes place at the Polynesian Resort every Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. and also at 10:00 a.m. at the Wilderness Lodge.   Each guest is given a matchbox containing some ladybugs.  You then release the ladybugs onto the nearby plants.  Ladybugs are attractive carnivorous insects that eat other "bad" insects.  By using this process, Disney World has managed to reduce their chemical pest control by more than 70 percent.  This is an educational experience for your child that could come in handy if your child is expected to hand in some educational papers for school concerning their trip.  The ladybug release is free and open to anyone who wishes to participate.

  • Flag Family at Wilderness Lodge

    • One family is selected each day to raise the American Flag in the morning, and another family is selected to lower the flag at the end of the day.  They bring your family up to the roof of the Wilderness Lodge.  This program takes about 10 minutes, during which you are treated to a spectacular view of the Magic Kingdom.  They also take your picture, give you a frame, and some families may receive a certificate to get a free breakfast.  If you want to participate, mention "Flag Family" when you check into the resort and ask if you can sign up.

  • Tours of Wilderness Lodge

    • There is a morning tour daily at 9:30 a.m. that deals with the architecture of the Wilderness Lodge.  This tour brings you outside to discuss the landscaping, and inside to view and discuss the totem poles, paintings, and other art.  This tour takes approximately 1 hour.
    • The afternoon tour takes place daily at 3:15.  It begins at the Whispering Canyon Cafe, and moves to the smokehouse, then Artist Point.  You will get a chance to try the smoked ribs and the salmon.  This tour takes approximately 45 minutes.

  • Hidden Mickeys at the Wilderness Lodge

    • Ask for a Hidden Mickey list at the front desk of this resort.  There are quite a few of them to be found in the lobby area.

  • Flame Runners at the Polynesian Resort

    • Each evening at 6:00 pm at the Polynesian Resort they hold a torch-lighting ceremony, which includes an authentic Polynesian torch-bearer, drums and chants.  This is a very short ceremony.

  • Ride the monorail up front with the driver

    • When you arrive at the monorail, ask a Cast Member if you can ride up front.  If someone else is already waiting, you may have to wait for the next one.  Sometimes they will give the small kids "pilots certificates".  You get the best view from up front, especially when riding the monorail into Epcot, since it circles around Future World

  • Can't decide which Disney resort to stay in? Choose two. Switch part-way into your stay, and Disney will take care of transferring your luggage from one Disney resort to another.
